What came out of the kiln today

This is what came out of the kiln today. I think we got some really good glazing results.
I had two pieces where the glaze was too thick on the bottom and it stuck to the kiln shelf taking a chuck of the piece with it. That didn't make me too happy. Thank goodness I can salvage both pieces and I had just applied kiln wash to the shelves so it was easy to clean off. Just another learning curve!!!Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Days

Today has been a good day.I opened the kiln this morning and I have to say that I was quite happy with the glazes.I really love the way the glaze came out on the divided bowl. The bean pot ,wine cooler and the big serving bakers all survived without a crack.. I quess you might be able to tell who has been making some leaves.I also really love the way the glaze turned out on them. Now I just hope Karen will as well. The Baja frog is now in Arizona and I am told that she is looking forward to coming home and starting back into the pottery. She will be happy to hear that the sun is shining here today and we woke up to hearing a redwinged blackbird singing.Spring is on its way. Thanks for stopping by!! Caroline

Loving some of the new glaze combos

I love the warm tones of the bowl with the dragonfly and the glaze on the wavy bowls.
The bowl in the back is a new glaze we are trying called tempest blue.
A wine cooler with dragonflies,I like this glaze combo.
Karen's large tray with birch trees.
I wonder who likes leaves and chartruese!!! Could it be Karen???
I tryed out a new glaze combo on this tray, lots of movement.I still find it hard to get good photos ....another learning curve!!!
Some peanut butter feeders and of course no post would be complete without a birdhouse. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you had a great sunny day like we had today. It feels like spring is just around the corner!!!

Teamwork

Karen and I had a great weekend doing pottery, after all it was the Super Bowl weekend! However our plan was to make bakers with both of us passing our piece on to each other. We each made three bottoms and then passed it over to the other person and they would add the walls. Then we got our piece back and we added handles. Not all of them ended up being bakers, some turned into large serving trays.... What a fun project. Teamwork at its best!! We want to do this project again when Ev gets home from Mexico. Karen also threw me 4 cylinders on the wheel which I turned into a small brie baker,a peanut butter feeder,a flowerpot and of course a birdhouse. Thanks for stopping by. Caroline
