Some very happy kids
Grade 6 students from TM Roberts came to work on an pottery project
with Karen at Parkland Middle School.
The students made bowls which connected back to a study on the
environment. While the students were in their regular classroom they
researched the impact of disposable-ware, particularly plastic and
styrofoam, on the environment. Then, once the bowls were finished
being fired and glazed the students took their prize pottery projects
back to their school and used them for a celebratory lunch.
The students awareness on the impact of disposable ware was heightened
and as a class they discussed more ways they could help reduce the
amount of garbage going into the landfill.
